Letters from the Heart
Farm Family Testimonials |
| |
Dear Adopt:
Thank you so very much for your letter.
Your ministry is the most caring of people one could imagine.
That you really care about people that much is just overwhelming
to me!
When I contacted your office quite a number of years back, my
husband was going through depression, and hospitalized.
In the meantime, I worked nights at a turkey plant, and he
worked at the packing plant.
Eventually, after two years of nights, I quit that and took care
of the cows.
After awhile, we could see we didn’t want living like that
either.
Sometimes we think maybe all these past years God has been
preparing us for something bigger in our lives.
We have learned we need to manage money better and really like
the concept of debt free living, and Joe has learned a lot of
helpful dairying management tools and just the everyday
knowledge that goes along with working with tractors and
fieldwork.
We will have all our debts paid off by December, Lord willing.
We would really like to become supporters of this ministry
somehow by starting out small, and hopefully giving more later.
The home farm is really on Joe’s heart and so is his dad.
They miss each other.
I just pray that something could work out there in the future,
and we will know what the right thing to do is.
We will be married fourteen years this fall, and have been
trying to farm ever since.
We’re both young yet though (we think) and have many years of
farming left!
I am very, very, sorry I did not keep in touch with you.
It was very wrong of me.
I really felt embarrassed by all of our moving around and all.
Thank you so much for your concern.
Someday soon, I hope we can give back to your ministry somehow.
We have four little farmers-young sons, and one little girl.
Love In Christ

Praise to the Lord
From Ruin to Restoration |

A Louisiana farm family was ministered to by Adopt for many
years. The wife wrote a few years ago…. “Years ago I first
contacted the Adopt ministry. Our family was in a state of
disarray, discontent and confusion. I had almost given up hope.
Humanly speaking, we were at the end of our rope. What I thought
was a desire to help other farm families was my disguised cry
for help.
Adopt responded immediately with mentoring, visual support and
prayer. For years, our present situation with our family was not
getting better, but worse, -- yet you loved us and believed in
us and stood by us. You listened to me process my thoughts and
feelings. You encouraged me to attend the annual Rural
Restoration Conferences. You stayed with us and became our
friends. For all of this were blessed of God.
Over time, the miracles started to spring forth. Watered
by your faith, love and prayers, our lives were slowly
transformed. You stayed with us in faith believing & encouraging
us along the way—until the miracles came.”
This family has experienced a complete reversal from ruin to
restoration. All the children have returned home from
attending mission schools, now living near or on their
farm involved in ministry and watching their children and
grandchildren grow in the knowledge of nurturing truth and
love of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
