"God Weeds Gardens" by Carol Cohen |
|
| A great number of
my evenings are spent outdoors with the mosquitoes and the weeds as I
settle into my familiar spot next to the squash and cucumber plants. The
routine is to get settled between rows; commence the removal of rascally
weeds begin. The systematic removal of weeds is not the only thing that happens during these evenings. I find myself letting my worries and concerns surface and a dialogue begins between me and the Lord. The words come easily and comfortably between us just as the weeds, roots and all are easily pulled. As the hours fly byand my thoughts are left with peace and understanding, the weeds are picked and deposited handful by handful into a bag for disposal. Just as those weeds are removed from my beloved garden spot, the weeds that this life brings are taken from my heart and disposed of by God. Adopt Prayer Ministry has been the subject of many of those dialogues with the Father. Change has brought on some concerns for the ministry but God has provided its needs and guidance as we move down this journey. Some of these changes are more noticeable than others. The toll free number, 800-472-4674 and the address of the Adopt office has moved to Marys house. Even though I am not able to take your calls at the Great River Coop office, will be more than happy to take your calls or emails at my home, or Mary will get prayer requests to me if you choose to call the toll free number. Jane Cernek can also be reached with any prayer request (all contact information will follow). Along with the change in location, Adopt also has two new additiona to the prayer team. Gretchen Maloyed and Lucille Andres will be helping with letter writing. All of this chage has put a delay on communication and loss of some email addresses. I pray you will be patient with us. The bugs will be worked out soon and a smooth process will be enjoyed. By the way, the bugs in my garden are much different; we have worked things out by agreeing to coexist. As God is weeding the difficulties with changes regarding the Adopt Ministry, I would encourageyou to keep sending those prayer concerns so we can lift them up to the One that is capable. I would also appreciate your email addresses if you are interested in being on the email prayer list. I have lost many of these with the temporary shut down of the Adopt computer. Whether your place of dialogue with God be in your garden or your favorite morning place, remember how capable He is at disposing those weeds of worry growing in your heartleaving you with flowers of praise and thanksgiving.
